Tenbury Advertiser can't add up

With an already long list of errors in its editorial, it seems that the Tenbury Advertiser is now having a problem with it's maths.

Last week it didn't check its figures and ended up claiming the Tenbury Fire & Rescue Station Commander had started as a retained Fireman aged 3.

This week it features a country home on it front page leader for £2M, by page three this has increased to £5M.  That sure is a huge rate of inflation.

I wonder who, if anyone now proof reads the paper, or perhaps as some have claimed it's typeset in a country where English isn't their first language.

Still it does mean that the old saying "you can't believe everything you read in the paper" is still true.

A Bad Week for the Advertiser

Mistakes happen and when they do they often come in threes.  That seems to be what happened to this weeks Tenbury Advertiser.

Firstly a rather "large" spelling mistake in the front page headline.

Secondly the lead story claimed that "When the planning committee - which included no Tenbury members - made its decision"  No Tenbury members?  Who do they think Phil Grove and Tony Penn are?

Thirdly, last week the advertiser correctly stated that it's combined (Ludlow & Tenbury) circulation figures had dropped to just 4708, but this week they reverted back to the 2009 figure of 5192.

Perhaps they are a little ashamed that they now only sell 1,900 copies of the Tenbury Advertiser and a further 2808 of the Ludlow version.

Playing catch up.

The two local print Newspapers covering Tenbury Wells have been playing catch up this week.

The Tenbury Advertiser leads with the destruction of the Mulberry Trees recorded here on 6th December, and the Ludlow Journal, leads with the "Use it or loose it" message from the Tenbury Wells Regal Cinema recorded here on 2nd December.
