Busiest ever week at the Regal

With the screening of the hit movie Mamma Mia, the volunteers running the Regal Cinema at Tenbury Wells have successfully managed what is probably their busiest week ever.

With 5 full houses seating around 1300 people, Tenbury Wells Teme Street has been alive each evening, with hundreds of people with happy, smiling faces.

Mamma Mia is set to become as popular as the movie Grease has been for the last twenty years. With stunning and outrageous performances from a star packed cast, this film is a must see for anyone who has ever hummed, whistled or sung an Abba song, or remembers 'Disco'. Set in a holiday destination that we would all like to visit, this film will be re-watched and remembered for years.

Congratulations to the team, and long may it continue with an exciting range of high profile films being promised over the next few months.

Lets hope the the Town Council are as successful in the Lottery Grant Application to help fund much needed repairs having let the fabric of the building deteriorate over the years.

Fascinating. With no real help from any Council, a film has brought 1300 people into Tenbury during the evening - and all at no cost to the tax payer. Brilliant! Compare this to how many people the Tenbury Walking Weekend brings into Tenbury, and ask the question "who is doing the best job?" - the Council (with all that money and all those resources) or a hard-working bunch of local volunteers! I say it's 10/10 for the local volunteers and 'could do better' for the Council. The Council didn't even put the Applefest in the Worcestershire Events Guide!!
