What a difference 24 hours makes.

 Tenbury Mayor; Cllr Jones, Cllr Morgan and Town/District Councillor Penn take a break in their sandbag distribution to survey the damage. Tenbury Mayor; Cllr Jones, Cllr Morgan and Town/District Councillor Penn take a break in their sandbag distribution to survey the damage.

Less than 24 hours after their meeting with the Environment Agency, where it was confirmed that Tenbury would not be getting any flood defences, Town, District and County Councillors were out in force on the flooded streets of Tenbury.

The Tenbury Crisis Management Team and Plan were swung into action early this evening as it became clear that Kyre Brook would breach its banks.

Keeping an eye on Tenbury. First again with news and pictures, well done WR15

I can't believe that Tenbury has been flooded again after such a slow comeback! This could be the deathknell of town. Authoritive incompetance needs to be addressed a.s.a.p! I think the residents and business that have been affected should have a really strong case for compensation from all the agencies who let them down.

What happened to the very expensive TV screen in the library? The money for this was provided on the basis that the screen would provide information about any emergencies affecting the town. In fact, whenever I looked at the screen, it seemed to be switched off. Someone should find out where the money came from and give it back. It is obvious that this TV screen is pointless.

I heard that the TV was being moved (at a cost of £1,000) to the Tourist Information Office. Some problem with access, broadband connection and because you couldn't read it when the sun shines. No idea why it wasn't working last night. Perhaps questions should be asked at the next Town Council Meeting, which I think is on Monday, but yet again it hasn't been advertised on their website!

The TV screen was bought for emergencies, such as flooding. If the town is cut off by flooding there will be no tourists. So how would it make sense to put the screen in the Tourist Information Centre?

I think it has been chosen as building in a prominent position that the Town Council have access to. I would imagine that it will be sited in the window and can show Tourism information when there isn't a crisis.

Still not enough sandbags AGAIN (friday)for houses and shops at the Teme bridge end of the town .Reference photo i thourght there were only two jokers in a pack!

@WR15 said...

There was still a part pallet of sandbags at the collection point saturday afternoon?

These were delivered Saturday morning. Friday evening none in sight .

It seems that quite a few sandbags were taken across the bridge to Burford, Shropshire (as Malvern were supplying them and South Shropshire weren't) Replacement supplies couldn't be moved to the Market drop off point as Market Street was closed.

A Severe weather warning was given out Thursday ,they should have been delivered then not friday !

One thing that puzzles me is will cars etc have to give priority to boats in Market Street in the future? Better get it sorted out now for the future

It will depend if they are under power or sail.
