Mayor Cllr Jones has instructed all the members of the various Committees to revisit their individual budgets with a view to reducing them. He said that the overall increase should be as near to zero as possible.

The entirely predictable result of the Council's refusal to undertake root and branch reform of its present archaic, piecemeal and opaque financial management.
I'm still waiting for the rigerous examination of all the budgets during 2009 promised by the Mayor.
The Town Council should be announcing a <1% increase on Monday.
1% rise that is a modnest rise well done to Tenbury council. just be warned if the tories win the election council tax rises will go through the roof
The election result shouldn't make any difference to the Town Council precept.
MR WR15 how can u say that it is a well know fact that council tax rises are bigger under the tories
The Town Council raise NO money from central government, so there would be no difference. District and Country maybe another matter entirely.
I don’t think a Tory victory in the election will necessarily mean huge increases in council tax. But I think it will, in due course, mean a large and necessary cut in the bloated public sector. It is going to be very painful and the effects are bound to be felt in Tenbury as everywhere else.

The final figure has been revised to 1.4% to enable the Council to give some support to Cafe 27.
