Just in case you wondered.

You may have wondered what the rather strange items of urban landscaping are that have appeared on the footpath alongside Kyre Brook.

These are features for Skateboarders to use to make their journey to and from the Skate Park more interesting.

I also understand that they can be used by BMX bikes, although paradoxically they are banned from cycling down this footpath.

(In a recent Tenbury Primary School quiz, the Cycle in a Red Ring sign was described as Cycling permitted, so who knows!)

It's nice to see that tax payers money is going to something useful pfft...

Tax payers money, probably yes, but not paid to Tenbury Council or MHDC.

This was money some other area couldn't spend before the deadline to gifted to Tenbury.

Even if it was or wasn't payed to Tenbury or MHDC its still a waste, surely there's better things the town could do with than a bit of tarmac on a slope for 'skaters' isn't that what the skate park was built for???

The money was "ring fenced" so could only be spent in a very narrowly defined way. Such is the way of so much funding, and of course the old chestnut, money not spent, does not roll over to the following year, but next years budget gets reduced by that amount on the basis if you didn't spend it this year, you don't need it next.

Who decides which pot to put money in? There is too much money in the "Tarmac the park" budget and not enough in the "Fix the potholes" budget.

The circular sign with the cycle in the centre means "No cycling" . A similar sign but triangular in shape means "cycleway ahead"...how many Tenbury residents have bothered to read their highway code since they passed their driving tests...not many by the looks.

I'm informed that there used to be a second 'No Cycling' sign on the section of the path between the car park bridge and the skate park, but no one remembers when it disappeared.
