Wild drinks: the hedgerow martini

He has plans to develop anti-ageing skin creams – made from, yes, you’ve guessed it, potatoes – in the spirit of the original Body Shop. He also wants to open a country-house hotel, and has already bought some land on which to build a posh supermarket in nearby Tenbury Wells.

He has already got land to build a supermarket so why waste money on purchasing more?

Sorry I am missing the point. Isn't the land he has already bought the cattle market?

What happened to his previous application for a farmers market?

I don't think he made one?

A FARMERS MARKET WOULD BE GREAT IF THE TOWN WOULD SUPPORT IT

ithink it was back in 06

Tesco is coming so he is may as well not bother .When they come everyone can say bye bye

Is it a farmers market only if each stall is manned by the producer, or like the Ludlow Food Hall where 80%? of the produce is sourced locally, but sold by a company.

I can't see a full time Farmers Market working. Mr Chase may have seen the success of the Ludlow Food Hall (who's turnover is now measured in millions).

The recent Food Fair was a great success, but is the local market strong enough to buy large quantities of premium food on a regular basis.

Do you know the weekly turnover of ludlow food hall ? It cannot be that much i never see any cars on the car park

From the Ludlow Food Centre website. "Since opening, the Ludlow Food Centre has achieved a seven figure turnover and attracts thousands of visitors a year. It has created more than 80 jobs for local people and hundreds of valuable supply contracts for farmers, growers and producers from the Heart of England. "

The prices in he ludlow food centre are ridiculous,who wants to buy a sausage roll for £1.59

@WR15 said...

With a turnover in excess of £1 million, someone must be buying.

1m per year is only 20k per week .Bowketts takes 4 times that amount

@WR15 said...

So does that mean for every person who buys a premium quality product, 4 other will buy the cheapest product? Surely these are two different market sectors.

Its being called RIPPED OFF more like check the prices of organic milk 60p differece !

Spar: 2 Litres Milk £1.56
Barn Shop 2.27 Litres (4 Pints) 95p. Does that make Spar a rip off shop?

Anonymous said...

Yes i agree to some extent ,but try getting milk after 6pm in Tenbury ,also the spar shop is open till 11pm they can charge higher prices as everyone else is shut.ALDI 2ltr milk 1.09 so ALDI is a rip off as well .The barn shop is using milk as a "lost leader" dangerous game remember Kwik Save

Anonymous said...

The Barn shop must be stupid, what is the use of selling below cost price

The ludlow food hall fruit and veg looked awful ,local suppliers no chance most of it was from Argentina!

@WR15 said...

I think 80% of everything sold has to originate from the four counties. Not sure how this is measured e.g. Number of items, value, weight!

Get him "Chase"to sort out the auction yard first, the place is a disgrace to the visitor coming into our town.

Has the Swan garage been taken over by Harry Tuffins ?
