The Air Ambulance landed in the field next to Teme Bridge just after lunchtime today. I'm not sure where the medical emergency was but hopefully the prognosis is good as the ambulance left without a patient on board.
Can anyone tell me why the Helicopter that landed today was the wrong colour?

It seems this helicopter is a G-SPHU. Eurocopter EC135T2+ which gets about a bit! It has done service for the Strathclyde Police Air Support Unit and the North West Air Ambulance fleet. I can only guess it's now the helicopter that the garage loans out whilst the usual one is being serviced. (Or perhaps Burford comes under the North West area whilst Tenbury comes under West Midlands?)
does it matter what colour the helicopter is as long as it does its job?
I'm just curious. As I would be if I saw a yellow fire engine instead of the usual red.
Yes, I get similar info to you.. Additionally the company who own it [Bond Air Services, Staverton nr Cheltenham] on the CAA's Aircraft Register/search. Looks like it's a hire aircraft from them - I think they're based on the old Gloster Aviation test airfield..
I guess with the amount of flying these craft do they need a major service now and again and then they need to bring in a "Courtesy Craft"
