As with the local Tescno and pro Tesco campaigners, have the corridors of power within the council chambers and its senators also realised this consummate ‘sit on the fence’ characters’ time is up?

Has he been rumbled in the hills?

...long knife jump or push? well if his performance at the TESCO planning meeting was anything to go by, it'll be a push

As with all things you do in Public Life, you can't please all of the people all of the time, and it's probably a mistake to try!

Absolutely right! That was, and is his problem. He would be more respected if he would ‘man up’ and ‘stand up’ for his own beliefs and views rather than babble.

Too true. But having been in public life for nearly forty years (but now now) I do understand that it can often take many years before realising that what you say is true!
