Well, I’d be very surprised indeed if we’ve heard the last of Tesco. I shouldn’t think they’d be too deterred by tonight’s rather second rate, nay dreadful, meeting! There were very good representations by our two district councillors (who represented opposing views) but pretty dismal, and in some cases fairly ignorant, contributions by other councillors and absolutely dire and directionless chairmanship. If this meeting was supposed in increase our confidence in the virtues of democracy it was a pretty dismal failure.

On what grounds did they refuse permission this time

2 abstentions these people should vote yes or no

Even if the abstentions voted yes then the it would still be 7-6 against DUH!

cloaters, idiots, bastards, morons (you know who you are and I do too) some of the names the "nice" Yesco people are calling ordinary folk who have real concerns also, just because things haven't gone their way. mmmmmm does this say something about our community - it's not nice - to me it just says that the people who want this development don't give a care for their community or the town or each other - it shows ignorance and rudeness and lack of understanding. I have also been astounded at some of the personal comments and if the umberella of anonimity was not there then there would certainly be some court cases - lucky for those whose identities are hidden -if it comes or not this blog has shown some people for their face value and I am disappointed in human nature in Tenbury Wells. Tesco has succeeded in pulling the community apart but not to each others face and this blog has helped it.

Be nice people.

There are valid points on both sides of the argument. We have a democratic system and we have no option to rely on it to get the right result in the end.

I'm sorry if you feel this blog fuels discontent, but I feel more communication is better than less.

I have tried to keep the "information" neutral and where I express my opinion I say so.

You only have to read some of the letters that have been sent to the press (and published) to see how misinformed some people are.

wr15 - i'm not referring to you - I too have read all the information available in the press and if one believes everything written by journalists and opinionated people - it's not about paperwork or planning which our democratic society forces us to follow - it's about a lovely town in the middle of a lovely countryside under threat of being dragged into urbanisation - well if this development comes as you are so avid to have then once it does you can not change it back just my opinion and I for one will make sure it comes and things are spoiled I will let you know
