As another Christmas draws nearer....

The annual Tenbury Wells Lantern & Santa Parade marked the end of the 2011 Mistletoe Season.
All the usual characters were in attendance,
although surprisingly the lantern section seemed somewhat depleted despite the run-away success of this years lantern workshop.

There was also a dance exhibit in the window of 12 Teme Street, but this proved very difficult to see.  Perhaps they had overdone the atmospheric lighting, but with condensation and reflections on the windows the dancers were all but invisible to my old eyes.

Lovely to see as ever.. Big thanks to all those that helped arrange this and run it.. The ambulance at the start was a turn up for the books though?

Can't see what dancing in a shop has got to do with Santa?????

Not a lot really. It's actually linked to next years Olympics. Didn't really work imho but they wanted to come when they could draw a crowd.

Can't see what dancing in a shop in Tenbury has got to do with the Olympics, particularly when traditional English dancing is not welcome at the Olympics!

Tried it but all I got was a picture of an old door!

That caught me out too. Try clicking on the image on the door.

Tried it and got a picture of an alarm clock.
Is the site meant to be rubbish?

Perhaps, artistic & challenging is more apt. I got better results. Quite a lot of content once you find the way in.

£470,000 in six years! said...

But is it worth £470,000?
That's the projected Arts Council grant to Dancefest over the next three years and last three years combined.
Maybe Dancefest could rent the TV shop on Teme Street that's been empty for years and do some dancing in there, then at least Tenbury would have something to show for the £470,000!
Pity there was no money to paint Tenbury's bridge years ago - that could have been a real arts project.
