Tenbury Civic Society & Tenbury Area Partnership along with the Town Council have been lobbying Worcester County Council for a number of years to make improvements to the street scene in Tenbury.
Alan Eachus who is the Civic Society representative on the Tenbury Area Partnership commented " Peter Blake from WCC announced that money was now available for a PR (Public Realm) scheme and works to the bridge. This of course is great news for the town and the County are keen to proceed as fast as possible. It’s been hard work getting to this stage but I remain very positive!"

I guess not, unless WCC know something that everyone else doesn't.
For the love of all things holy sort the roads out first, then stick a 7.5 T limit in place to prevent them getting so bad again
You want to put a 7.5t limit on all roads what about farm traffic?
Just think how much extra food and other goods would cost if the delivery vehicles were restricted to 7.5t. Also how many extra trucks per day would be needed.
To be quite honest totally agree sort the bridge and roads out through the town as it is a bit of a mess now but whats wrong with footpaths they were not done so many years ago at quite a cost i would of thought so personally it would be a waste of money yet again

What about the flood defences?
Next time you walk down the Pavement in Teme Street, just imagine that you have limited mobility or use a wheelchair, then perhaps you will agree that the pavements do need improving.
Quite agree. Evern pushing a pushchair is a nightmare. And they are so passe - look at Cleobury Mortimer to see what can be done to improve the physical and aesthetic experience.

Good news about the makeover... it is certainly well overdue.
What do you reckon about a nice black and gold Teme Bridge instead of the current cream to match in with the street furniture and bus stop etc?
Mark you, public realm improvements are unlikely to attract many new visitors to Tenbury unless some of the local businesses get their act together. Walking through the town today (Saturday) I was struck in particular by the appearance of two town-centre pubs. Both had filthy entrance areas (littered with spent cigarette ends), windows, curtains . . . I could go on. I certainly wouldn’t dream of patronizing such an establishment elsewhere so why would any one want to visit Tenbury to do so?
Broadly to be welcomed I would imagine [PR improvements]. We know that there have been various structural concerns about the Teme bridge from WCC's own documents online.
I know this sounds a bit like I'd like the world on a spoon.. But.. I wonder if enhancing/realising the potential of the town's Riverside came/might come within the scope of the improvements too?
It'd be interesting to hear a definitive angle on summer visitor stats in Tenbury over the last few years. There are certain newspaper reports that seems to suggest that visitor numbers were depressed last summer but I wonder if all parties [TIC etc] shared that view?
