Historic First for Town Council

Tenbury Town Council are planning to set a zero percent increase in this years precept.

At the Finance and Staffing Group meeting tonight, final figures were entered into the various Town Council budgets that make up the precept, and subject to full Council approval, no overall increase will be requested.

Exactly how this has been achieved is unclear, as substantial additional costs have been budgeted for, such as £640 for a licence to continue to hold weddings at the Pump Rooms, and £1200 for edging of the Bowling Green. It was also unclear whether a further £900 would be required to licence the website for a further year.

CCTV is to be discussed by full Council, but no budget has been set as the Mayor is proposing to vote against the purchase.

Perhaps they are making a lot of money from renting out the Pump Rooms?

£1200 to edge a bowling green thats never right surely

I'm sure that's what they said.
Reduced price if same they use the same Contractor as Sensory Garden. Think it's more involved than going round with an edging iron. My question is, just how much are they prepared to spend on the Bowling facilities when the income is so low!

Well done TTC

Can we look back (annually) and get an average % of the Precept increases! They will be probably running at 100% / 150% year on year increases. Very wise to have a year off!

£1200 to edge a bowling green? What are they edging it with? After all, you don't play bowls on the edge of the green!

Did they mean £1200 for 'edging - as in Hedging?

Pretty sure it was edging. There was discussion about moving soil from Sensory Garden to Bowling Green.
